How to Throw a Great Hot Tub Party (Halloween Edition)

Whilst autumn is a season filled with festive fun, it’s also a pretty chilly time of year here in the UK. However, the fantastic thing about hot tubs is that they can be enjoyed year round, making them perfect for Halloween parties. At combined Shipping, we love Halloween, and we want to help you make your Halloween hot tub party one to remember. With our tips and tricks, you’ll become the ultimate Halloween party host.

Cleaning

You’ll want to make sure your hot tub is hygienically clean and ready for your guests. Ideally your hot tub’s water should be changed 3-4 times a year. If it’s been longer than 4 months since you changed your tubs water you’ll need to do this before your guests arrive. As a hot tub owner you’ll also know the importance of regularly testing the Alkalinity and PH of your hot tub, as well as the bromine/chlorine levels. All levels can be tested at once by using a bromine or chlorine testing strip.

Decorating

It goes without saying that to throw a great Halloween party you’ll need to make the venue look the part. To make your home and garden look ghoulish you don’t need to spend a fortune. Start by deciding where you want your guests to gather. If there are any rooms of your home you want to make off limits to guests, make it known with some scary ‘do not enter’ signs. You can also add signs that point to the bathroom. Next concentrate on making these areas look as spooky as possible. False spider webs usually cost no more than a tenner and can be used to make almost anything look creepy.

Lighting will play a big part in creating the right atmosphere, so keep it dimly lit and scatter around some battery operated candles.

Making your hot tub look the part can be a little more challenging than decorating your house, but its certainly doable! Around the base of your hot tub, put webs, and creepy decorations such as skulls, spiders and jack o lanterns. To give the water and eerie look, use your tub’s LED lighting to your advantage. Red and green are the colours to opt for if you want to create a creepy vibe. Take it one step further by adding glow sticks or led bath lights to float on the top of the water. If you really want to impress your guests, you could hire a smoke/fog machine to create the ultimate spooky atmosphere.

Catering

For the ultimate Halloween party, you’ll want the food to be in keeping with your theme. However, this doesn’t mean spending ages in the kitchen. Allow your guest to serve themselves trick or treat style and have a few bowls of sweets lying around. You can use Halloween themed bowls to do this or, better yet, scoop the insides out of a pumpkin, pop a plastic bowl inside and fill with treats!
